1.Warming Up(2 minutes)
•Display pictures of various foods and
drinks(e.g.,milk,noodles,tea,bread,dumplings,chips)on the screen.
• Ask students to name these items in English.
Example:
Teacher:"Look at this picture.What is it?"
Student:"It's milk."
Teacher:"Good!And this one?"
Student:"Noodles."
2.Presentation (3 minutes)
• Show sentences from the PPT and ask students to identify the nouns and determine if they are countable or uncountable.
Example Sentences:
• "What do you usually have for breakfast?I usually have some bread and milk."
• "Would you like juice or coffee?No,thanks.I’d like a cup of tea."
• Explain the usage of"would like"and its different forms:
• "I’d like a large bowl of noodles."(would like sth.)
• "I would like to go to the park on weekends."(would like to do sth.)
• "My mother would like me to study hard."(would like sb.to do sth.)
3.Practice (3 minutes)
• Provide sentences with blanks and ask students to fill them with the correct forms of the nouns.
Example:
• "I would like(beef)."(Answer:some beef)
• "I would like(apple)."(Answer:an apple)
• Discuss the differences between countable and uncountable nouns:
• Countable nouns:Use"a/an","some","many","few",etc.
• Uncountable nouns:Use"some","much","a lot of",etc.
4.Interactive Game(2 minutes)
• Divide students into pairs.One student asks,"What would you like?"and the other student responds using"I’d like..."
• Encourage students to use both countable and uncountable nouns in their responses.
Example:
Student A:"What would you like?"
Student B:"I’d like some juice and a sandwich."
5.Application through Role-Playing(3 minutes)
• Assign roles to students(e.g.,customer and waiter/waitress).
• Provide a dialogue template and ask students to fill in the blanks with appropriate nouns.
Example Dialogue:
Customer:"Do you serve(fish)?"
Waitress:"Sir,we serve everyone."
Waiter:"Would you like the(bill)now?"
Customer:"You can bring it over,but I’m sure I won’t like it!"
• Encourage students to use the correct forms of countable and uncountable nouns.
6.Summary and Homework Assignment(3 minutes)
