This is a reading lesson. It mainly talks about Sam’s diary,which records a meaningful day of hers.

Step1. Lead-in (4 mins)
1. Greeting.
2. Have a free talk:Talk to your partners about one of school trips you’ve had. What activities did you do during your trip? How do you like the trip? Then invite some students to share their ideas.
Step2. Pre-reading (8mins)
1. Brainstorming: Q: There are so many special days in our life. How do you usually record your day?
2. I will introduce the topic of today's lesson.
Step 3. While-reading (18mins)
1. Skim the diary quickly and answer some questions.
2. Read para1 and 2 and let students underlie what Sam did/saw in the morning. Then Complete T or False.
3. Read para3 and answer the questions:What did Sam learn from the trip?
4. Fnish 1c and 1d.Then check the answer together.
Step 4. Post-reading (8 mins)
1. Students work in pairs and retell sam’s special day.
2. Tell students to learn how to cherish food.
Step 5. Summary and Homework. (2 mins)
1. Invite one student to make a summary.T should repeat the new words and phrases again.
2. Students need to finish the following homework: Review the key words and phrases. Read and try to retell Sam’s diary. Do the related exercise.
