内容分析

This lesson is selected from the eighth grade lower semester of the People's Education Edition, Unit 6. It centers on Andersen's fairy tale "The Emperor's New Clothes". Through activities such as picture matching, listening comprehension, and story retelling, it aims to cultivate students' listening and speaking abilities as well as critical thinking. At the same time, it subtly imparts the emotional education of "honesty".

1.Language Competence: Ss can identify and use the key words in the story accurately;Understand the main plot of the story and complete the picture sequencing.

2. Learning Ability: By using pictures and key words to retell the story, improving logical expression skills.

3. Cultural Awareness: Understand the characteristics of Andersen's fairy tales and comprehend the significance of "honesty" in the story.

4. Thinking Quality: Through learning Western fairy tales,Ss can  understand the differences between Chinese and Western cultures.

Part1

情景导入

 

1.Greeting.

2. T display some pictures of Andersen and the cover of "Andersen's Fairy Tales", and ask questions: Do you know this writer? What stories have you read from Andersen's Fairy Tales?

3.Play the video of "The Emperor's New Clothes" and guide students to observe the scene.

Watch the video and answer the questions asked by the teacher.

Use videos to introduce the theme of this lesson, guide students to think and brainstorm, naturally perceive the target language during the thinking process, and stimulate students' interest in learning.

Part 2

学习理解

 

1.Vocabulary Learning :Show some pictures(gold/silk/emperor/underwear) and have students match the words and read them aloud.

2.Pre-reading of pictures:Show 5 story pictures and guide students to describe them by using short sentences (such as "The emperor is looking at himself." "Two brothers are making clothes.").

Complete the vocabulary matching exercise and try to describe the content of the picture in simple sentences.

By combining pictures and text,the learning difficulty is reduced,laying the foundation for listening and retelling.

Part 3

应用实践-听说活动

1. Listening Practice :Play the listening material and ask students to sort the pictures (1-5). After checking the answers, ask students to read the sentences again.

2. Listening Practice 2: Play the listening material for the second time. Students fill in the blanks (such as "The emperor had to give them silk and gold")

3.By Showing the listening material,explain key words and phrases,and correct students’ pronunciation.

3. Group Retelling:Explain and provide key words for the mind map (Once upon a time, two brothers, cheat, underwear, boy shouted), organize the group to use "first..." then... finally..." to retell the story.

1. Complete the sorting and follow along, paying attention to pronunciation (such as "cheat" "stupid").

2. Complete the fill-in-the-blank exercises, understand the deceptive behavior of the liar and the emperor's psychology.

3. Listen to the teacher’s explanation and take notes.

Through multiple rounds of listening practice to enhance the understanding of details.Group cooperation is employed to reduce the difficulty of retelling and cultivate teamwork skills.

Part 4

回顾总结

1. Guide students to summarize the main idea of the story and key words: "What can we learn from the story?"

2. Write down the key vocabulary and emotional goals: "Be honest!"

Discuss and answer questions, and record key vocabulary.

 

Extract the story's moral and strengthen emotional education.

Part 6

家庭作业

Write a 3-5 sentence summary of the story, including the key words (emperor, cheat, boy, honest).

Finish the homework.

Help students review after class.

教学反思

The students' interest was aroused through videos  and pictures. The listening tasks were progressively more difficult. However, some students had weak logical coherence when retelling, and further efforts are needed to strengthen "first..." next... finally..." Training of conjunctions.
